Having had very close relatives with health issues I have a very good viewpoint from the patient’s perspective. Letters crossing in the post. Letters not arriving at all. Waiting for letters to arrive for the next stage of treatment. GP’s not having the info yet when ringing for updates. Appointments rearranged, lots of waiting. Obviously whilst waiting anxiety grows, concerns grow, patience dissipates. Frustration grows between family members wanting news from one to the other. Pressure for everybody concerned all round.

Unfortunately we do not live in a perfect world. People try their best, but mistakes will happen. Things will get missed. That is life.

I feel privileged that I can affect some of the pressures faced by patients. Making sure letters are sent out very quickly after a consultation, treatment or diagnostics. Making sure patients are booked in for a consultation, treatment or diagnostics as quickly and efficiently as possible. A quick, efficient service is a prerequisite for us at AJC Medical Secretary Services.

It also imperative that the consultants have all the relevant information before them when dealing with patients.

There is certainly no 9 'til 5 for us at AJC Medical Secretary Services. We try our best to answer queries from patients and consultants when we are called upon whatever the hour. I believe we are a very important conduit between patients, consultants and the medical facilities.

It comes down to a very important point, To us at AJC Medical Secretary Services right patient outcome is very important.
