Consultants, do you need more time for clinical thinking? Let us at AJC give you that precious time.
What would you do with the extra time you are given by a trusted, competent medical secretary?
Let’s be honest, from a consultant's perspective admin is generally not a strong point. A consultant’s strong points are surely clinical skills and patient care. Should consultants' time be made up of diagnosing, treating, advising, and consulting patients? Am I right or wrong in stating that?
10 mins saved on admin does not sound much in isolation. Let’s multiply: 10 mins per patient on average 20 patients a week. That equates to 200 minutes. That’s over 3 hours saved.
This time can be used for better patient connections and clinical thinking time.
