Why I became a Medical Secretary

Why a Medical Secretary?

Why did I decide to become a Medical Secretary?

I really believe in quick, reliable access to healthcare for people. People want to know what is wrong with them and how can it be put right. As quickly as possible.

I believe consultants have a difficult role to fulfil in diagnosing the patient’s health problems and then setting about righting those problems.

To enable them to concentrate fully on that, they need a clear mind, not full of distractions.

I believe medical secretaries are the conduit between the patient and the consultant.

My role is to make sure the patient is kept up to date as quickly and smoothly as possible. Help guide them through the healthcare journey, which is not always straightforward and understandable.

My role is to make sure the consultant does not have to answer phone calls, respond to countless emails, book appointments for the patient, book theatre time for the patient. Deal with queries from Insurers. Deal with queries from hospitals. Deal with queries from patients. This list is endless.

So the role of a medical secretary is in essence two-fold, keep the patient happy and stress free and keep the consultant happy and stress free.

I believe we at AJC Medical Secretary Services do just that and I am very proud of that and take a lot of satisfaction and happiness from carrying out a fulfilling role in that healthcare journey.

I am passionate about service, and committed to delivering the best client support to maximise your performance.
