A very good end to 2024 for AJC Medical Secretary Services.

We sat down at the beginning of 2023 and made projections for the next 3 years. Asking, where do we want the business to be at the end of that three years. We had a number of goals for the business.

1. Employ my daughter and daughter-in-law.
2. Local office of our own
3. A set amount of money sat in the bank after everything paid out

Three straight-forward points. So we sat down and worked out financially how we could achieve this. Working back to front really.

How many consultants? How many hours?

Without being too simplistic, bring enough money in, spend as little as possible. Offer a great, invaluable medical secretary service to our clients. Pay our way and pay bills on time. Pay staff a good salary. Make our place a great and fun place to work. Always try and do the right thing. Be honest, have morals, have principles and follow them.

So as the end of 2024 rapidly approaches how did we make out.

1. Hannah employed in September and has been a revelation. As a parent I could not be more proud of her. She has brought something to the table and been a big help with the business. Making plans to employ Lauren early in 2025.
2. Local office sourced and looks great. Very proud.
3. Not quite there yet on the target set. But all bills paid. We owe nothing to anybody. Taxes up to date. 

We looked like we would fall just a little short at the end of this years projections on consultants/hours. We have patiently worked with two consultants, onboarding them at their own pace, a pace that suits their practice and circumstances. Lo and behold both have now committed to AJC’s services. Right at the ‘last minute’ of the year, three weeks to go!

Rather unbelievably those projections we worked out at the beginning of 2023 are becoming the reality. Also, the hours now invoicing are higher than we projected.  

Have a dream, set the path out before you and go for it. We have.
